About Al-Ahlya Silica

Screened silica sand from southern Jordan, shipped by road and through Aqaba

Who we are

Al-Ahlya Company for the Manufacture of Mineral Sands, trading as Topaz, is a Jordanian limited-liability company. We extract silica sand at Al-Quwayra in southern Jordan, screen it dry into standard sizes, and sell it in Jordan and for export. Our office is in Amman.

Our quarry and plant

Location
the village of Al-Quwayra, Aqaba Governorate, about 70 km north of Aqaba, on the west side of Al-Humaymah. The site has a paved road, water, electricity and an LPG line, and the Port of Aqaba handles our sea exports.Source: company profile, 2026.
Licence
a licensed mining operation, with its permits and a long-term lease on the extraction land.
Processing today
extraction and dry screening into 0–3 mm, 0–2 mm, 0–1 mm, 0–800 µm and 0–600 µm, plus the 0.1–0.6 mm grade. The sand is not washed or dried today.

Markets

Most of our output goes to Jordan's cement and construction industry. We have exported to Qatar and Turkey, and earlier to Lebanon and Syria. Our location gives us road access to Saudi Arabia, the Gulf states and the UAE, and sea access through Aqaba.

What comes next

Expansion is planned: drying and grinding equipment, which would allow dried grades and silica flour. We will add those products to this site once they are produced and tested.
